Bad Example Productions will present the Milwaukee premiere of
Cannibal: The Musical
at the Alchemist Theatre in Bay View, July 14th -30th.
Cannibal is written by Trey Parker co-creator of South Park and co-author of The Book of Mormon for which he won four Tony awards.
Kurtis Witzlsteiner stars as Alferd Packer, the first man convicted of cannibalism in the United States. Packer leads a team of miners from Utah to Colorado territory in search of gold. Standing in their way is Frenchie Cabazon (Jim Donaldson) the pint sized fur trapper with the world’s largest Napoleon complex. The miners encounter snowstorms, raging rivers, a secessionist cyclops, and Francophile Indians on their madcap journey.
Packer recounts his tale to the beautiful newspaper reporter Polly Pry (Marcee Doherty) from his lonely prison cell. She sifts through his torment, as he is torn between helping the miners find their way, and recovering the true love of his life, Leanne (Natasha Mortazavi).
Company founder David Kaye directs, and music director Chris Wszalek leads the cast through such classic Parker songs as “Let’s Go Build a Snowman”, “Hang the Bastard”, “When I Was On Top Of You”, and “Schpadoinkle”. This toe tapping disaster will keep people laughing through the murder, mayhem, and mastication.
The show also features Dana Brzezinski, Jeremy Einichner, Chris Elst, Erin Harman, Grace Liebenstein, Paul Pfannenstiel, Emily Pietraszewski, Jason Powell and Tom Welcenbach.
